have yarn, will travel

impatience is already winning. i am SUPPOSED to be correcting a horrible mistake i made on the baby blanket i also have on the needles right now, but instead i went yarn shopping. and then bead shopping. but look what i got!!! even more excited to get started now! just praying that my guess at how much yardage i need to make a top instead of a dress is not wildly off. time (and wendy) will tell...

wendy, i WAS going to wait to buy yarn, but then i got out of work early, and i drive right by the yarn store on the way home--i couldn't help it! and yes, your advice helps--i left my yardage question on your last post on here, but you told me just what i needed to know anyway. i am also going to do the 2T size, and i got something like 600 yds, so i think i am all set. luckily, my yarn store will let me return what i don't use. :)

carole, this yarn is berroco cotton twist--it's 70% mercerized cotton and 30% rayon, and it's machine washable! i used to design textiles, so i am a sucker for good quality soft fibers. :)

thanks for the info, wendy. i am going to make something pretty close to what you did, so get ready--you are my official goto person. i hope you are flattered and not annoyed--i just LOVE what you made! can you tell me how long the skirt on yours is? i am guessing it's about 7-ish inches, but again would love a sanity check. thanks for all your help so far!
