Picot Cast On

Can someone gently explain the Picot Cast On? I am comfy with knitting and purling, increasing and decreasing. Can get help from the local yarn shop but one lady I asked hadnt heard of it.

Is there a step by step instruction somewhere?

Thanks so much!

Debra

I too need help with this! I am frusturated! I have my vogue knitting book out and I have created this chain looking thing but it has two loops from the bottom that are staying on my needles and I don't know if it is supposed to look this way... I have to say this is the most frusturating cast on I have ever attempted!

I'm there right now! I'll look in the KAL archives for a mention of it.

This method works great - I like it better than the one from Knitty (Miss Dashwood)

Picot Cast On (Nancie Wiseman's "The Knitter's Book of Finishing Techniques") :

Cast on 4 stitches using cable cast on *knit 2, bind off 1, knit 1, bind off 1, place remaining stitch purlwise on left needle. Cast on 6 stitches, repeat from* cast on two additional stitches to come up with 104.
